I hope everyone is having a decent Holiday Season. Every year me and my partner reserve a hotel room to spend time together and Winston is the chosen spot for this year.

We already have plans to do Tanglewood and I would like to visit Old Salem but for some strange reason I cannot find it when Im in that area.
Is it only a building? or am I not turning on right street and can you park or do you have to walk to see it? I find Salem College no problem and when I look for Old Salem Im using going through to dead ends in the college parking lot. LOL help.

Other than those two things what else is there to do that is going on for the holidays?
Is there a church service I should check out downtown? Is their carolers going on?

I miss Darryl's restaurant downtown is there another reasonable price restaurant downtown I should check out? Does anyone know of unique restaurants near Hanes Mall other than Village Tavern?

Thanks

Salem College is part of Old Salem, but for the life of me I don't see how one could miss it. Main Street runs right through Old Salem. From Downtown take Marshall Street to the Old Salem Visitor Center and park and then you can walk over and do the tour.

Check out the Stevens Center downtown, there might be something go on there

The morvarian church in old salem will have the love feast going on Christmas Eve, you might want to check that out. Also there is a large Baptist and Methodist Church on 5th street downtown.

There are tons of downtown restaurants. Foot Hills Brewing, NOMA, Downtown Tia, Sweet Potatoes, 6th and Vine, 4th Street Filling Station, Mellow Mushroom, Hutch & Harris, Camel City are just a few.
Does anyone know of unique restaurants near Hanes Mall other than Village Tavern?
Most of the Restaurants out of downtown are the typical chain theme restaurants. I am not aware of anything special out there, but others may have different opinions.

Thanks
Check out the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership website for me details. www.dwsp.org

I hope this is helpful

How could you leave out West End Cafe in your list of reasonably priced downtown restaurants???

Home Moravian Church in Old Salem, and part of the Salem College campus, probably has a Christmas Eve service. If they do, it would be well worth the effort.

I usually take everyone to see the lights at tanglewood on Christmas eve,it's not as crowded as you might think then (but now I see you already mentioned tanglewood),so I'll mention Cities restaurant on Stratford,it's interesting and has good food.
As far as Old Salem, from Waughtown St.,just keep going straight, twds Winston-Salem (not the kernersville direction),and you can't miss it,in fact, you'll run right into it
