I may be relocating to Greensboro in January for work, and i will have a few days at the end of this month to check out the area. I have never been to Greensboro, but went to Charlotte a few months ago (didn't get to see that much of the area).

I have lived in the South my whole life - LA,AR,MS and have never been near any mountains. I absolutely love any outdoor activities and have heard there is a lot in NC and the surrounding areas have to offer for hiking, camping, white water rafting, etc.... that is BIG ATTRACTION for me.

1) I'm not sure if i'll have too much time to travel around, but what are some nearby attractions within close driving distance to see some of the beautiful NC landscape?

2) I'm 26 yrs old (no fam) so i will be looking for an apartment. Work would be located near the airport. Is that a pretty good area, or sure i try and look for something in the downtown area? or another area?

thanks for your help

I would suggest to a 26 year old moving to Greensboro to look for an apartment downtown. Maybe City View apartments would be ideal. What can you afford to pay in monthly rent? Greensboro is alot smaller than Charlotte, but still a nice size city. The airport is about 20 minutes from downtown and a easy commute.

I think you can probably get a 1 bedroom at CityView Apartments downtown for that price. They usually stay rented out, but they are in the process of finishing up a new buidling now. I live downtown in a 1 BR loft and pay 900 a month so CityView is reasonable.
