Hello everyone, can anyone help me out, moved to the Greensboro area 6 months ago and have not really seen much of anything. Want to go away for the long weekend in Jan somewhere with my husband and 14yo son, perhaps up to a 5 hour drive away....any suggestions ? Origianally we decided on Memphis, but after seeing how far a drive that is, changed our minds !! Thanks in advance !!
I definitely second DC (just not around the 21st!), kind of out of season for Charleston, Hilton Head but might be worth it. Nashville is a little out of your time frame, but interesting to visit (much rather visit Nashville than Memphis). Also Asheville, Boone, Grandfather Mtn are fun to visit, just watch the weather. You might also consider Florida if you want it a little warmer, St Augustine is only about 7-8 hours.
