Sadly many of these spaces are still empty and there are some spaces that have NEVER been leased.
One store that does surprisingly well: Bath & Body Works. I sneeked a peek at their daily sales reports one night; the week I saw this BBW was raking in 2-5k per day.

Then there are the non-connected fringe stores, like Barnes & Noble, which take in the traffic as part of the mall shopping experience. If OHM closed, their numbers would probably drop considerably. It's not the best location anyway. On the other hand, if the mall were closed, maybe they'd get more traffic, but the effect would be temporary as people moved away...

I remember you saying your husband works for B&N and I honestly think the out parcels would continue to flourish if OHM were to close. Without B&N High Point would not have a major chain bookstore. There was a bookstore in the mall and it went out of business (not because of the mall). The two casual dining resturants that once flanked the lower entrance have long since disappeared & the food court has only 4 spaces occupied. I think Target, B&N, Liberty, Chilis, Golden Corral draw more people to OHM than OHM does.
