Do you think if they just built a new mall, a really AWESOME mall, that it would help revitalize the area? Or, would it be sink hole? It looks older and out of date from the outside, but if they updated it, made it taller and glassier, with cool stuff inside, maybe...maybe it would help!

Did you know that the Toys R Us in NY city has a Ferris Wheel inside it?! :O LOL

Funny you should say that, considering the dated exteriors of Four Seasons & Hanes Mall, OHM is much newer and nicer. However, the interior is way overdue for a remodel. The current decor lacks syle and sophistication of Hanes & 4 Seasons. Unless they are able to pull in hot tenants the other two currently don't have all the fancy architect in the world is not going to save this place. Not to mention two bankrupt tenants and one independant recently pulling out. In all probability it will be purchased by a local church with entirely too much money, which was the same fate of Weschester Mall.

They ruin the old half of Hanes Mall by remodeling it to look like the new half . One of the biggest attractions for me was enjoying the countless water fountains.

You act like that is bad thing Greensboro Expo once a month has loads of visitors shopping it Flea expo. Cooks Flea Market in Winston is huge and one of the nicest indoor flea markets I have been into. It has a mall like feel to it and OHM could be design with similar format but the interior would add character to it

I agree. At least they have remodeled; OHM is around 14 yrs old and the interior has never even had a facelift.

Sorry about that, not bashing flea markets at all. Used to be a regular shopper at Cooks 1 & 2.
Allow me to clarify; OHM is unable to attract very many major chain stores, so if effort to fill space they lease to independents. Not a bad thing. However, independents don't have the money to spare on decor like the major chains do. With that being said former chain spaces now occupied by independents still have the original decor (e.g. a sports store called Tailgators is in the space once occupied by Disney. The Disney carpet and colors remain). Couple that with budget made signs & the mall is taking on a very fleamarketesque appearance. OHM management does nothing to help these people either.
Is that better?
