My parents always rent a place in Long Beach on Oak Island. Oak Island is a great place because it has a bit of this-and-that. If you can't find it on the island just drive over the bridge, and you can more likely find it at South Port area. I have been going for the past 15 years, and it has changed a lot, but still is not as packed or crazy as Myrtle Beach can be.
