I am a single mom of a 13yr old. I live in Staten Island, NY. I am so tired of NY & everything about it. Ready 4 that big change! I visited High Point a few months ago and i really liked the peace, quiet and respect from people. I hear great things about NC & also so many people moving there. I am looking into Oakview Terrace Apts or Fox Hollow Apts..Also my child will be attending Ferndale Middle School...Any input regarding theses places will be helpful!

Ferndale Middle School is a "Low Performing School". It is the lowest rating you can get from the state of North Carolina.

Good luck on your move!

I would strongly suggest seeking a different set of schools. High Point schools are not known for their excellence. They rank very lowly, having many problems in every aspect. Your child will not get a quality education at Ferndale or the nearby schools. I speak from personal and second hand experience.

Here is a website where you can compare schools in the area. There are some good ones in central NC, just not right where you are looking to move.

Hi ~ I live in Michigan and also am planning a move very soon to High Point. Also, my son and his wife and 5 year old daughter live here now, but, have already found a house and put a deposit on it in HP. We are all moving down the first week of June. I am looking for a 2-bedroom mobile home to rent ... prefferably a rent/option to buy. I wish you luck in your move.
