I have a question about Labcorp's hiring process. I had an interview at the corporate office last week for a position with them. I filled out the paperwork so that they could do my reference/background check. I have not heard anything and it's been a week now. I was just wondering if anyone on this forum works at Labcorp and could possibly tell me how long the background/reference check may take and how long it takes to be contacted by a recruiter once the process is complete. Thank you.

Do you have to take a drug test? (Just kidding--for those who may not know, Labcorp is a drug testing facility, so they're the ones who get all that pee that's floating around out there from job applicants).

I don't know the specifics of Labcorp, but in general you should expect some word within a week of an interview unless they've told you otherwise that it would be longer. You should contact them and politely ask if they can give you a status on where things are. Background checks can take a while, but often companies will proceed with an offer contingent on the results, so that in itself shouldn't necessarily delay an offer.

Good luck!

Generally speaking most companies have poor etiquette in this area, they neither will return your calls of inquiry or notify you of a rejection.
At the end of the interview you should ask if it is ok to contact someone regarding the status of your application. At that time the interviewer would inform you of their policies regarding potential applicants. If the company is smaller & less formal the interviewer may provide a contact number & time frame in which to check back; sometimes they do get distracted. If it is a larger company they may have so many applicants that they don't have time to contact all applicants, it becomes a "wait and see" proposition. If you didn't get any contact info, and from your post I suspect you didn't, you will fall in the wait & see category.

Question about Labcorp

When they ask, the routine question "Do you have any questions for us?" Say "Yes, would you please describe for me what my normal day would be like?" OOPS, sorry, I just saw the date on the original post.
