I read about this on the web.Is it close to completion? I also saw on some of the older blogs that the town of (reidsville) were this was being built was a dying town.true or not. Or have things changed. Thanks for any info

Well, I suspect Reidsville is on the decline, not exactly a surprise, most of the mills have shut down. But.... there are definite advantages to creating a horse park in a dying community, ... land prices are really cheap, you can pick and choose, you will be one of the few games in town.

It happened in Williamston in eastern NC. After the state of NC built the Sen Bob Martin horse show complex there, it has helped the community get new hotels and a few other businesses. There still isn't much else in Williamston, but it's helped increase the local occupancey tax.

I've never heard of Horse Park of the South. Who was supposed to be developing it?
