I have a nice 2 BR/1 BA for rent in August in Lake Daniel Park, 1/2 mile from UNCG.
The only neighborhood you need to avoid is Glenwood.

What is this vendetta against Glenwood? I wonder if any of y'all have actually BEEN there, and have seen the progress! Yes, some of the houses are run-down, and need some attention. But I think in ten years, it'll be another Lindley Park. Especially with the expansion of UNCG. On the edge of Glenwood, on Lee Street, new mixed-use student apartments are being built right near old Hodgin Supply.

I have family that has lived there for over 20 years, no issues at all.

The school district (Smith) is not great, but it has an IB (International Baccalaureate) program now. Schools tend to improve after they gain that. Also, it's right near downtown and you can feel like you're making a difference in breaking the bad rep that the neighborhood gets.

This Saturday, from 11 AM to 5 PM, they are holding a neighborhood festival aptly named GlenFest, check it out! It'll be at the corner of Grove and Glenwood. Food, Music, Dancing and More!

I like Glenwood myself. A lot of character and a nice diversity of folks.
