I recently moved from New Jersey to Greensboro and I am having trouble finding a team to play on. The only leagues i can find are Church Leagues and I am looking for something more competitive.

I am an outfielder and I played tournament ball in NJ in the C and D divisions ... I played in the A division in League ball...

I would appreciate it if someone could help me out ... Thanks

I understand your problem. I moved down here 8 years ago from Northern VA and I've had the exact same problem. First of all, the leagues here are aweful. Many play 1 game, 1 night a week. Sometime the night alternates. In Greensboro, they have 1 game 2 seperate nights. High Point is not even worth mentioning beyond having so many issues I can't stress enough how much I recommend NOT playing there.
Currently I play in a church league in Winston-Salem, *most* of the umpires are good. There are some decent players and teams, but nothing that would stand up to competetive tournament play. I have gone online to the Carolina NSA website (www.carolinansa.com) where they have tournament teams and who is in need of a player. However my experience there has been somewhat negative. The established teams know where to find players and the teams that need players, need them for obvious reasons, like bad attitudes, players who aren't committed, or egos where the coach is always looking to pick up someone a little bit better. So I've played with a few teams from there but it's never lasted more than a few tournaments.
So I wish you luck finding a team, and if you run across a D or E team (because I'm not a power hitter) that needs a solid pitcher or corner infielder, send me a note.

-Chris

Really? I don't see that I'm a "chronic complainer" even after re-reading it again. I'm not sure why you would choose to bump the article in the first place, let alone do so by making an unfounded attack against me.
