Default Best cell service in WInston-Salem?

I'm kinda new to the area, currently have Verizon. It's a GREAT service in the Carolinas, but in my neighborhood, Buena Vista, it's giving me a LITTLE bit of trouble. It is great in the city, though.
I am thinking about switching out of it, maybe to AT&T or to another company. But I am afraid to lock in to another company for two years, like AT&T. What I want to know, is, is AT&T better than Verizon here, or is Verizon the best? Or are there any others that are even better?

I can't speak to the quality of Verizon here since I haven't had their phone, but I have had AT&T for the past 4 yrs (2 here) and can say they beat Sprint and T-Mobile as far as coverage. With my former job, I had Sprint and had NO coverage at my home and spotty service downtown. When I changed jobs, I needed a new business line and tried T-mobile with no luck. I've now had 3 lines of service with AT&T and can say their service from Charlotte to Raleigh is hard to beat. Hardly ever a bad call and surprisingly good 3G coverage. Also, I was amazed at their customer service when I had an issue with a phone from a 3rd party retailer. Just my 2 cents.
