Default Houses/condo/Townhouses for rent in Davie County?

What is the best way to search for rentals in Davie County?

We are looking to rent prior to purchasing a home and settling in. We think it is the best way while our child could start Kindergarten in a good system. Many of the websites offer appartments more so than houses.

looking for a single family home that is available for rent, mainly. Otherwise we would consider renting a 3 or more bedroom townhouse or condo. As I said, we are considering relocating to Advance, Mocksville, etc. Is it even a possibility to rent in these areas?

I guess nobody knows for sure. I guess going to a Real Estate Agent would be best in this situation.

Check realtors, but also - just drive around. I've seen many FOR RENT signs out in front of houses that aren't realtor-related. Seems they've just gone to Lowes and bought the standard signs with an open space for a phone number. Also, given that Davie is sort of small town community, stop at some of the mom 'n pop gas stations and ask the attendant. There are a couple of barber shops - one next to the Advance post office and another on 64, just west of the 801/64 x-road. Stick your head in the door and ask there.

While Davie has seen a lot of development on the east side, away from there is still a charming "Hooterville" kind of community. Be friendly and ask - people are happy to talk

Thanks so much! It is somewhat a relief to hear that people are friendly. Where I'm from, it is not always the case. We will be driving around there soon, but thought I would ask the folks on this forum for some "insider" advice. We have not decided which area to live in yet, which is the reason for my looking for a rental. However, with current real estate problems and financial collapses...I worry about the "landlord" of the rental going into foreclosure as well! A lot to consider when looking into renting single family.
