So the movers packed up our 4 bedroom house in Pa. and we are moving to a 2 bedroom in Adams Farm.

Anyone know the most painless way to get rid of what will probably be half of our stuff?

Most of it is not new or valuable, and I might be able to post some things on Craig's list. But much of it could go right to the dumpster.

Appreciate any advice/help.

Thanks!

Try Goodwill or Winston-Salem Rescue Mission (they'll even come pick it up if you're in Forsyth Co.)

edit: Oops, I didn't notice that you said Adams Farm, so the WS Rescue Mission probably isn't your best option. I'm sure there's a similar organization in Greensboro though.

It's stored on the moving truck, but probably a few dressers, perhaps a twin bed or two, etc. I can let you know more what needs to go when the movers deliver it next week.

What do you need?

bee gee, I don't know if you would be interested or not but my daughter works for CWS ( non-profit) here in Greensboro which is constantly looking for donations of furniture (which they will pick up) to use for setting up housing for people coming into the area. Let me know & I can forward info if you want.

bee gee -- That is great! My daughter is absolutely thrilled. I'm relatively new to this site so not sure how to get in touch with you with my info (i.e., e-mail/phone #). I gather it's not a good idea to post either on the site. I "befriended" you so I'm assuming that will work. Talk to you soon & thank you so much. Oh and by the way -- they will take anything (from furniture to pots and pans to car seats, etc., etc)

That IS great. The moving truck isn't coming for almost two weeks and then I'll get right on it. You and I can figure out how to connect by then!
Thanks, I was soooo worried!

FYI, you can send a private message through the forums. Look in the upper right where it says "Welcome, username". Click on "Direct Messages" under your name. On the next page, click on "send a message" on the left side of the page. Easy!
