I am a Northerner looking to relocate in the Greensboro, NC area or Rockingham county area. I have read many posts regarding the southerners accepting and welcoming the northerners as they relocate to the Carolinas.
What i haven't seen many posts about is religion. I would like to know if there is much diversitility regarding religion and how a very reformed Jewish woman married to a Catholic man with 2 children relocating from NY would be accepted and fit in. Where I am from there is such a wide range of religions and nationalities and there is such a wide variety of churches for all christian denominations, temples, etc... Please advise asap how you believe the above scenerio would fit in |

Thank you for your reply, but my bigger concern is the Judiasm in my family. Can you please assist there as well? Not so much looking for a Temple as I do not attend, but just looking at the acceptance and concerned how kids will be treated in school / college. Please help.

Started with Judiasm, but it didn't work out. My older son was 13 when we stopped with organized religious instruction, so he thinks of himself as Jewish, but my younger son does not feel he is either Jewish or Catholic. Has not had much religious instruction.

I do know of one Jewish temple in Greensboro. I've passed by it a couple times. I forget the name of it though.
There are also Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons (I assume - I've seen them on their bikes), and Buddhists. There's a Buddhist temple not far from my house. I would expect that y'all would be fine. I've never heard of any attacks (verbal or otherwise) or vandalism against non-mainstream places of worship. All the best! |
