Default Possible Relocation to Greensboro... Need Info

My husband started working for a compay with the possibility of being relocated to Greensboro area. We are looking to get any information on the area. We currently live in the Nashville area, orginally from California. Things I would like to get info about are: areas near great schools- we have a child in elem, 1 in middle school, and 1 in high school-also a newborn! Looking for family friendly areas, near shopping, good selection of churches. Also for my hubby, hows the golf there? Thanks for any direction and advice.

Sounds like west/northwest Greensboro would be best for you. The nice parks are in this area like Guilford Courthouse National Military Park (we just call it Battleground Park), the Arboretum, Bicentennial Park/Bog Garden and so on. Lots of schools, kids, shopping, churches, etc. You will find what you are looking for on large swaths of New Garden Rd., Hobbs, Holden, etc. But it's a little more expensive in the northwest part of GBO. Lots of golfing in this area too. The Grandover Resort is known for golfing and is about 10 miles southwest of town.

I agree w/ NCnut. NW Greensboro is great for kids. The Science Center and a petting zoo is not too far from the parks and the schools are better (IMO) This area is growing A-L-O-T!
