Hello,
I'm planning on moving to Greensboro area from FL within the next few months, I'm looking at houses that are about 2,300 sq. ft. I would like to get a feel for the living expenses, such as: gas, electricity, water, etc. If anyone out there could help, I would really appreciate it!! Thanks.
I live in High Point in a house about that size (2450 I think). City of High Point combines electric, water, sewer, and garbage all on one bill. Mine averages about $260, it's higher when it's very hot or cold, and lower when the weather is nice. We don't have gas. Our bill is also probably a bit higher than most because my wife runs her home based business mostly from the garage, so we have a little higher electrical load than most.

The costs would really depend on how many people will be living in the home. I checked a few properties and the average electricity bill ran from $103 to $128 per month. I was not able to obtain the avg gas prices per month. Water is also based on consumption so again it depends on how many people will be living in the home. One would assume that the more people living in the home, the more water is going to be used. At one time, I had 5 siblings living with me (teens) and my avg water bill was approx. $45 per month.
I hope this helps. If you'd like to you can send me a DM if you have any other specific questions related to real estate.
Thank you all for the reponses. I'm the only person that will be living in the house. It's amazing how low the electricity and water bills are compared to FL. One other question
in FL we have Bright House as our cable/internet company, I understand that they don't service N.C., so what cable companies do you have? Thanks again!
We use Time Warner Cable and if you needed a landline, they can also service your phone or you can go thru BellSouth. Embarq (formerly Sprint) may also service some areas in Greensboro.
