Going back to the Indian comments, Newab is awesome, and the same owners own Saffron in Greensboro. It's near Friendly Center off of Westover Terrace. And near Saffron is ...
Bricks Pizza!! It is amazingggg. None of this Elizabeth's stuff. Go there.

I've been to Brixx Pizza several times (in Winston-Salem and Charlotte), and I was not overly impressed. It's okay, but not nearly as good as I expected given the hype I'd heard. I much prefer Mellow Mushroom's pizza.

Brixx is mediocre, unless things have changed over the past 4-5 years. The Loop is a bit more tolerable. MM is waaaaay overpriced, but better than both, due to superior ingredients. I hate their crust, though (just a personal preference).

My favorite pizza place in Greensboro is Pizzeria L'Italiano, downtown on Elm St. Someone here at City-Data recommended it, so I tried it and loved it. Mario's would be second for me, then Brixx. I've heard that Sticks and Stones (or whatever it's called, on Walker?) is good, but I haven't been there yet.
I went to an Elizabeth's Pizza a few years ago and didn't really care for it. I can't remember which one it was though. I think it might have been the one on Groometown.

All I know is that I still miss Pie Works now that I'm no longer in the Triad area.

You've just reminded me of something!
Does anyone remember the pizza place that occupied the former location of the Pie Works on W. Market, before Pie Works was there? It was a Little General convenience store, then a Circle K, and then later it was this great little pizza shop briefly before becoming Pie Works.
Anyone recall the name or who ran it?

Both have lunch buffets, which are nice if you're not familiar with the cuisine as you can try different things. There's also the Golden India restaurant off Reynolda Rd., but I've never been. Reviews are mixed.

Nawab is good, but Tumeric is the *worst* Indian food I'd ever had, and I've tried many indian places.
As far as pizza is concerned, L'Italiano in downtown Greensboro is the best and most authentic ... Little Vito's in Kernersville is good too, haven't tried much in Winston-Salem aside from Burke St which was mediocre
