My boyfriend is considering a job in Salisbury, NC (yes, about 50 minutes from your fine town). We aren't set on living in a city, but since Salisbury kinda in the middle of Charlotte and Greensboro (from my slim research -- please correct me if I'm wrong) I wasn't sure in which city I should concentrate my job search -- I am looking in the HR field. I have read on the Charlotte message board that job hunting in Charlotte is VERY difficult, despite the wonderful stories of Charlotte's "booming economy" that I saw; is finding a job in Greensboro equally difficult?
With so many people flocking to NC, one thing you will find is employers will be rather slow in making their decision. From what I hear, job hunting in Greensboro can be more difficult in some ways than Charlotte. Greensboro is not as progressive as Charlotte, so be patient!
BTW - Salisbury, IMO, is a bit closer to Charlotte than Greensboro. And you may find pay scales a bit higher in Charlotte.
