Default Moving to Guilford County
We are considering a move to Summerfield. What are the taxes like on a $400,000 house with about 10 acres? Utility costs? How close to shopping, medical offices, etc.

I am in Summerfield on the Rockingham County side - so I cannot tell you about the tax situation. (Rockingham county taxes are much lower than Guilford County)

This area is VERY rural. Lots of horses and cows. There is no shopping. The nearest grocery store is 9 miles from my house but we did just get 2 pizza delivery services. (Yes, this is a huge deal here!!)

It is a beautiful and quiet area. It is 15 miles to Greensboro, 15 miles to Winston-Salem and 15 miles to Reidsville (hospital locations).

I also believe the town government is trying to keep it that way. I think Greensboro has been trying to annex Summerfield for years.
