Red Oak
I don't get to Gboro much anymore. Is the Red Oak Pub closed? I drove by the other morning and it looked desolate.

Yes, it's been closed for quite a while now. I assume you know about the new brewery they built off I-40 towards Burlington? You can buy growlers to go there.
One of my favorite beers, by the way! Or perhaps I should say two of my favorites--I love both the Red Oak and Battlefield Black brews.

So they're 100% focused on beer now? No more restaurants?

Yes, I think it's all beer now. When the pub closed, their web site said something about possibly re-opening at another location in the future, but I haven't heard anything about it. I'd like to see them re-open sometime--the drunken chicken was fantastic.

My wife & I ate there shortly before it closed; atmosphere gone, new management, food was terrible. The Harris Teeter destroyed the secluded ambiance the resturant once enjoyed with the 50 billion candle power parking lot lights.
Fortunately Red Oak can be enjoyed at many local bars & eaterys.
There are plans to add attractions to the site where the brewery is now located.

An article in the Triad Business Journal a while back mentioned something about Red Oak moving their base of operations more towards the Raleigh area.

The beer has not been good since they changed brewmasters. They are really hit or miss, but when it is a hit, it is one of the best beers I have had.

^ I haven't noticed any change, and I've been drinking it regularly for several years. When did the brewmaster change, and what have you noticed about the beer?
Edit to add: I did notice that they changed the name of Battlefield Black to Battlefield Bock. Not sure why...perhaps this had something to do with the brewmaster change? It still tastes the same to me, although I suppose there could have been a subtle change that I just didn't notice.
