We'll be visiting Greensboro for Thanksgiving. Any suggestions for Buffets? Also, playing golf on Friday or Saturday. Which public course is best? Thanks!

I'd suggest the following:

Greensboro Sheraton (Buffet)
Di Valletta at Grandover Resort (Buffet)
Print Works Bistro (I think it's only menu ordering, not buffet)
Green Valley Grill (Take-out, and sit down, not buffet)
George K's (Buffet, I think)

I'm sure there are others, but can't think of them right now. The News & Record newspaper usually prints information about restaurants open on Thanksgiving a couple of weeks before.

As for golf, I's also recommend Grandover for that. Bryan Park is nice too. There are tons of courses in and around Greensboro. Unfortunately, most are private. BurMill also has an 18 hole course, I believe and is open to the public.

We're staying at the O.Henry so Green Valley Grill probably is our best best. hought about Grandover but really like the O. Henry; maybe that's still our best bet for golf.

Thanks so much!

Okay, booked the hotel, the brunch and golf on Friday.

Any suggestions, beyond shopping, for Saturday? Any special events/fairs etc.? Thanks!

I would suggest a show at Triad Stage. the "Santaland Diaries" and "Beautiful Star: An Appalachian Nativity" are both holiday themed shows, and both are worth seeing. This will be the last year for the latter, which has sold out most shows in past seasons.
Triad Stage - Greensboro, North Carolina's Regional Theatre

Elsewhere Art Collaborative is also a good time. It's kind of a living museum, with artists providing guided tours and living installations in a reclaimed two story building downtown.

I would call the O.Henry and speak with the concierge. They'll probably have a better idea of special events around town.

Thanks, Superk! I thought about the concierge but know that locals know what is best! Yours sound like great ideas. I especially like the Appalachian Nativity idea.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
