Default Plans to shop local?

Do any of you have plans to "shop local" this holiday season or try to do so in general?

I recently came across a blog who is compiling a list of "locally owned, independent shops in Forsyth County" ... the list of links to the local businesses is on the right side of the blog.

Life in Forsyth

I do try to support local merchants whenever possible. I may pay a little more, but I usually get better service and I know my money is not going to pay some fat-cat CEO's ridiculous year-end bonus.

Thanks for the reminder!

You do NOT pay more in many cases. You pay more up-front. In the long run, there's a good chance that you pay significantly more for chossing the "cheaper" options.
