This is my first posting so please be nice... I just recently visited the HighPoint & Triad area of Greensboro and I loved it ! I am originally from Nj had to move to Buffalo, Ny for a while to take care of some family matters but definitely want to be in Greensboro by June or July 2010 I want to find out where Greensboros hot spots are (grown & sexy/no kid crowd) ie: lounge/club.
Also looking for best places for job searching ? and good info. and advice would be greatly appreciated again please be nice no negative responses "please" thanks all...

Are you aware that unemployment in NC has now reached 11%? You shouuld not move here unless you have a job already lined up. That's not being "negative", that's being helpful and realistic. Otherwise you may be in for a very unpleasant surprise.

My line of work is Secretarial, in Jersey i worked for the Public Defenders Office as a Legal Secretary. I'm definitely getting out of Buffalo it's way to slow and just a slum of a place to live wasn't sure if I wanted to go back home (Jersey) been there all my life and definitely could use the change.... Oh my goodness I was hoping to get at least one positive response. No positives ???

The downtown nightlife is great! There are a lot of great places to eat and shop. It's not as fun in the Winter when it's colder outside, but once it's starts to warm back up I could spend all afternoon/night in the downtown area. Maybe take in a baseball game at the downtown ballpark when baseball season is here.

nubyan - I moved from Vermont in June of this year. I absolutely love it. It's a totally different environment than up north. It's the perfect size city as far as I'm concerned. I grew up in the heart of Philly and in VT lived in a village of 1200 so I've gone the gamut. There are things to do for everyone. As far as the job market, I am just starting to look and it does look grim. However, there do seem to be job opportunities in the secretarial/administrative area . . . I have noticed ads in the paper for legal secretarial positions. Just a bit of advice (from my own experience), don't rely too heavily on craigslist for job opportunities. As they themselves will say there are quite a few scammers online and it can be a bit of a job weeding through those. As far as the weather, all I can say is Wow! November and the temperatures were in the 50-60's last week, no snow and sun. Feel free to get in touch with me and I'll answer any other questions you might have.

Thumbs up Thank You ....

Now that's the type of response I was looking for thanks so much. Right now the job market out here "everywhere" is bad I don't think that there is any place that's not going through it.
From the little that I was able to see while I was there I loved the place and although I didn't get to go out anywhere I still got a glimpse of the nightlife in passing thanks for the positive "Berly57"... I will be in touch ~

I think you will love Greensboro..I do and you are 3-4 hours from great beaches and 2-3 hours from great mountains and ~2 hours from Smith Mtn Lake in VA which is gorgeous any time of the year.
