I would like to have people's opinions about Thomasville Middle School. Specifically, I'd like to know how well the staff gets along with one another, if it is a professional working environment, whether or not the students are respectful, and whether or not the parents are supportive of their children's education.

I have seen the demographics and test scores. I know that it is a city school with lower socio-economics and lower test scores. I am not as concerned with that. I would like to know if it is a positive or negative environment where the staff seems to care about the students and are supportive of one another.

Please let me know your thoughts if you have any personal connection to the school: student, parent, staff member, etc.

Thank you!

My wife worked there several years ago and really like the kids but did not get along with fellow staff. Has since left "city schools" for "county schools" and loves both kids and staff. Also have good friend that has taught there and absolutely hated it. Again, no support staff but could deal with the kids. I am speaking for teachers only-not administration.

I have worked in the Thomasville City Schools for 5+ years. I love the faculty and students and administration. Sometimes it isn't others that are the problem, it is the person trying to find their niche and not every school is for every one. I have worked in county systems prior to coming here band hated the lack of support and the fact that students didn't come first. I love my experience and am sad that others did not have the same experience.
