Trying to plan ahead for possibilities...My daughter is in the hospital at Brenners Childrens. We have plans to visit family in SC for the holiday, but no gaurantees we'll be out of here for that. However, with the visiting restrictions etc in place my family won't be able to come into the hospital (my other daughter is 11). IF we have to be here I should be able to secure a few hours out of here, between meds etc, for my daughter, and was wondering if there were anywhere open. I know near where we live (outside charlotte) there is a nice Chinese place that I had heard did a great business on Christmas. It would have to be close to the hospital (maybe 15 min away max).

K&W (there are 2 in Winston-both within ten minute of the hospital) was open and crowded on Thanksgiving. They may be open on Christmas as well. Quick southern style cafeteria fare-tasty, good variety, desserts are wonderful. Casual friendly atmosphere. If you're short on time and not looking for anything fancy, this might be a good bet, especially if you have younger children with you. If they are open they should have a nice holiday spread, tukey, ham and all the trimmings. Hope your daughter is feeling better.
hi merry christmas and im sorry 2 hear that your daughter is n the hospital esp during the holidays.Well i work at Baptist Hospital and i work in Brenners.For the holidays the Ronald McDonald room usually has donated food that you can eat if you cant find anywhere 2 eat.Im off this Christmas so i dont kno wht food they have this year but u will and can eat for free.Last year they had stuff like had turkey and all the fix'ns and desserts.its really good and the people are really nice.It is located on the 6th floor...6th floor is 6IMP/PICU i hope i help'd and i hope ur daughter gets well soon.....o and if they arent doing anything i guess you could try IHOP or K&W...or mayb a chinese place good luck&Merry Christmas
