Hi everyone! I'm in the market for a new apartment, and would love any advice I could get. My boyfriend and I go to Greensboro College, but are "adult" students, so we aren't looking for student housing. I am willing to live anywhere in Gso, as distance doesn't bother us. We'd like to stay around $600 if we can. One or two bedrooms, it doesn't matter. We do have a cat, and the most important aspects are that the place is relatively quiet (I realize that nowhere is going to be quiet all the time, but you know what I mean), clean, and in a safe, decent area. We've looked into Lincoln Green, Beacon Wendover, and the Lodge at Lakeshore. I'd love any feedback on these, and would happily take any other suggestions anyone may have!

Thanks so much!!

I live in Westborough Apartments, at the corner of West Friendly and Guilford College. It's in the northwestern part of town, out by the airport. The surrounding area is a mix of newer condos and established neighborhoods. Guilford College is a couple hundred yards away so there's quite a few students in my complex. There is a Harris Teeter within walking distance. Quaker Village is less than a mile up Friendly and has a UPS Store, AT&T Wireless, Starbucks, Elizabeth's Pizza, Taqueria El Azteca (Mexican), Carolina's Diner, Chinese Kitchen, Jimmy John's, and Boston Market. Chik-Fil-A, McDonald's, Hardee's and 1 Wok (Chinese) are also within walking distance. Westborough is beautifully landscaped with tall green trees everywhere, which makes you feel as though you're outside of the city. The apartment management is absolutely awesome and the maintenance people are courteous and punctual. I've had absolutely no problems whatsoever during the nearly 2 years I've lived there and I would wholeheartedly recommend checking it out. I pay $585 for a 2-bedroom apartment with around 1,000 sq. ft. Good luck on your search!

Thank you!! We're going to check it out sometime this week!

Anybody else with any opinions...good, bad, or indifferent on where you live? I've been looking at apartmentratings.com, but some of the reviews are rather old, and many apts have no reviews at all.

Thanks again!

I vote for Latham Park Manor. It's a mile from G-boro College, next to Latham Park, nice Neighborhood and has great prices and accepts cats! I have lived in Greensboro for 30+ years, this is one of the best!

My wife and I live in Hunt's View in the NW part of town. The apartments are nice, clean and quiet. Plus the staff has been stable and friendly for the 5 years we have lived here. They have events every so often, the pool is nice and clean. The outdoor grills, tennis court and areas are kept clean and kept up. The neighbors are all pretty nice and I believe there's a couple of sheriff deputies living here. There's places to eat close by, several grocery stores, two gyms, a wal-mart and target, a book store and library, and theatre close by.

Here is the link

Hunt's View

I'm not sure what specials they have, but on Craigslist they will sometimes post their specials and have them listed on their website.

Hope that helps and good luck
