I'm looking for a city that is not fast pace.Kind of laid back with available jobs and family friendly I would like some suggestions.Don't really know a lot about North Carolina. Over whelmed with finding a place to live, moving trucking companies the cost of the mov....HELP!!

We made the move from Houston to WS about 3 yrs ago now and laid back is definitely WS. Availability of jobs is probably not that high on anyones list of pluses about WS. The city/area has been affected like most others in the economic downturn, however, had a bit of a headstart given the local industries that have/are moving out (textile, tobacco, furniture). If you have an advanced degree you shouldn't have a problem, however, the hourly wage positions are fairly hard to come by to my understanding. I would not suggest moving without a position lined up. Another thing to consider is the state income tax. It does make a dent in the paycheck. Just trying to shed some light on things you may not think of before you move. Most of the posts on here are regarding moving here so take some time to look through those also. Good luck.

What industry are you in? Are you looking to work here? In that case, the best place to move is where you can find a job (not a "given" right now).
