Recently, I took my daughter to Dental Works in Winston Salem. My husband had been there in the past and said he loved it. Well after my daughter's first appointment, we were told that she needed to have braces. They set up another appointment so she could see the orthodontist, which only comes on Tuesdays. We had to take an appointment that required me to get her from school early. On the appointment day, I was required to sign paper for the cost of the braces that the insurance did not cover. The lady that went over the contract with me, never discussed the treatment plan, just wanted me to pay a down payment and set up contract payments. They then saw my daughter. They did moldings of her mouth and told us we needed to make another appointment to come back and get the braces. Her grandmother took her to the appointment and called me and told me that they put on the top braces but then told her she would need to come back to have 4 teeth extracted. They told her grandmother someone would call her to set up another appointment when the dentist was there to do extractions. First of all, why did we not already know about the extractions? Why put on the top braces but have teeth at the top you want to pull? When I called, all the receptionist could say was that my daughter needed to see the dentist before they could put the bottom braces on. A week has past and I have not heard from anyone at the office. How unprofessional for the lack of communication. Going to the dentist is a stressful situation already, then when you have professionals that do not communicate with their patients, it does not make the patient truth them. I would not recommend Dental Works in Winston Salem to anyone. I wish I would have went somewhere else.

Can anyone recommend a good dentist they've been seeing regularly, not just one-off experiences? I'm new to the area and don't know where to start the research. PM me if dont want to advertise.
Thx

Since this thread is primarily concerning a dental practice in Winston-Salem, you might be better off starting your own thread. Otherwise, it might be confusing. I was about to recommend a dentist in W-S before I noticed your profile says you are in Greensboro. I'm sure there are plenty of excellent dentists in Greensboro.
