I would like to get some input from people who have purchased furnitures from FLS. I happen to visit FLS and we liked a sectional. The lady who helped us out mentioned that they were offering 40% off the retail price. I happen the check the price for the same sectional at a local store and the local store offered me 20% off the retail price. I see that the local store price is just $500 more for a 6k sectional compared to the price in FLS.
My question is does FLS give the breakdown retail price for each piece. Also do they negotiate the price or what they say is the the final price.

Furniture Land South will definately negotiate on price. One warning though, most of the pieces there (that I have had experience with at any rate) were of questionable quality. When we first moved to the area we bought a living room and a bedroom set from FLS. The bedroom set was on the cheap side to start with but it was within our budget... I wish I'd either waited or spent the extra money because it was basically junk and didn't last long, a few of the drawers broke within the first year and I had to replace all of the drawerslides within two years because they bent so badly or ripped out of the dresser sides.
Worse though was the living room couch and loveseat. Both of these broke (wood frame snapped) within the first 2 months. After WAY TOO MANY phone calls and personal visits back to FLS, they sent someone out to look at the pieces. He "fixed" it, by screwing new wood supports over the broken sections... which lasted a couple of more weeks at most. They refused to come out and fix it again and would not accept a return.
I'd highly recommend never doing business with them, and if you do, just expect poor quality furniture from the start.

I would stay away from FLS. They will negotiate on price. I paid $1600 for a sofa that was on the floor for $5000 however I don't care for the company at all. They are a family owned business that have become greedy over the years. They treat their employees badly. I don't plan to do anymore business with them.

There are other threads in this forum with quite a few negative testamonials about this particular retailer. Do a search. I don't have any personal experience with them, but doubt that I would shop there.

If you find something there made by a known company whose consistent quality you can verify, and if you can get the item at a price that satisfies you, then maybe you could shop there with some assurance.

However, Elm&McGee's statement is enough for me.
