Can someone please give me some feedback on the area? Is this considered a low income area? or is this just average for Winston Salem ?
I see that they just built two new schools, anyone know anything about them.
It seems to be a very mixed bag of neighbourhoods? lots of new sub-divisions and older more spead out lots. Just curious about this area I hear very little about it on this forum, mostly all we hear is Clemmons vs Lewisville. I like both area's but have noticed some really nice house's in and around Swaimtown. Thanks all.
Probably very few people [even] living in W-S all their lives have ever heard of Swaimtown. Most of the houses in that area were built in the 1950s, with some built before the 50s and some were built afterwards. Most of the older houses are 800 to 1,500 sqft, which was common in neighborhoods like that. There are pockets of much newer houses that are a little larger, but they are all starter type (first homes).
Most people living in this area are in the middle-lower income scale or elderly people. Most have only a high school education or less. I'd say crime in the area is not too bad...all things considered. There are definitely worse areas to live in W-S, but of course there are many areas that are a whole lot better too. It all depends on what you can afford.
