What does Thomasville need to move it away from being a stop for gas and fast food for travelers on I-85. Bars, shopping, more downtown interests, etc. I have moved back here from being away for 10 years and love living here just wish I could do something to move it forward. Any ideas!?!

Agreed.

Seems they've tried to revitalize downtown a few times...but nothing ever took hold. Perhaps it's not meant to be....but driving thru downtown yesterday reminded me of the bakery....I could almost smell it. And I could remember shopping at Belks.

I for one do put the call out to Thomasville- I am a resident and don't like having to go somewhere else to shop. I do shop at Food Lion for my groceries but for other things it seems I have to go to High Point or Winston Salem or further away.

I've lived just outside of Thomasville since May of 2006, I buy groceries here (Ingles/Food Lion/Cedar Grove IGA) but other than that, I tend to go to Winston-Salem to shop at Kohl's, Best Buy, Joann Fabrics, and other stores. Or Lexington to Tractor Supply or Lowe's. There just isn't anywhere in Thomasville to buy much besides groceries.
