I moved from Indianapolis and I found this area to have a lot of nice homes on large landscaped/wooded lots as compared to the rows and rows of "beige boxes" right on top of each other that we were used to. I have heard that Charlotte has a lot of that too but the triad area seems to have a lot nicer, well spaced neighborhoods. I also like that there is a lot less congestion in the new shopping areas and things seem to be spread out and surrounded by trees. It doesn't feel like city living but there are a lot of things to do close by.
I now live in Indianapolis and miss Greensboro because of its mild winters, beauty, diversity, friendly people, great restaurants, proximaty to the beach, mauntains etc and low cost of living.
