A great family-oriented area is north of Greensboro - the town of Summerfield. Perhaps you could look there

I raised my kids there for 5 yrs. before buying a home in Greensboro. Great community with good schools.

According to the Greensboro Police crime map from 2008 (http://www.greensboro-nc.gov/departments/Police/Statistics/crimemaps.htm - broken link) (most current) it is a low crime area.

Will you be renting an apartment or purchasing a home? Summerfield is a great area, but I don't know of any apartments there and it is on the higher side if purchasing.
