Anyone familiar with landlords/property management companies that will permit spreading the deposit over a couple of months rent?
I know someone who needs an apt. ASAP. He's been living with a friend, but that friend just learned that he must move this week for a job in another state. That leaves my friend with nowhere to go, and unfortunately no money at present to go toward a deposit. He has a steady income that can easily cover rent, but no money now because he doesn't save much each month. If he had 2-3 months notice before needing to move, it wouldn't be a problem, but he must move within a week.
I suggested trying to talk a landlord into spreading the amount of a deposit over 2-3 months' rent. Is this likely? Know any lessors in Greensboro who might be open to this? I don't rent so I'm not too familiar with these things.
Can anyone think of other options? I don't know what to say to him because I've always been a bit more responsible with my money.
