New York-based financial-services company American Express decided Thursday to locate a $400 million data-services center in eastern Guilford County. The Triad location was selected over Des Moines, Iowa. American Express does not want local incentives for the project, which will initially employ 50 but eventually could triple that number.

Awesome news and a shot in the arm for the city/region. American Express apparently thinks Greensboro is a great place to do business. This is now their third facility in Greensboro.

They already have a customer call center and a fraud prevention center near PTI.

Where exactly is the fraud prevention center? The only facility I'm aware of is the call center. There was a business travel center at a separate location that closed about a year ago.

They're both in the airport area, and the travel facility relocated to Hickory.

Since you don't live here I'm curious as to where you get your info?

I'm moving there after I sell my house, and have a very good friend who happens to be a VP for the company.

Interesting, perhaps your friend is not as informed/knowledgable as you may think. The business travel center closed, displacing approx 100 people, it was not relocated to Hickory (my source works in HR). Fraud prevention is located in the same building as the call center.
