Thank you so much 007! Did try your suggestions , but were all booked for when I needed. Was successful with Hampton.

For festivities this weekend, do you mean Fall for Greenville? This yearly activity draws a very large crowd to downtown Greenville. I suggest a downtown hotel within walking distance - but these may all be booked up now. Please check this site for hotel recommendations. Drury Inn and Suites is consistently ranked the top hotel in the area (but is outside the downtown area).

Based on what measure?!? I know it has gotten positive reviews from travelers, but it is misleading to imply that it is the nicest hotel in Greenville. Not to say that Drury Inn and Suites isn't really good at what they do, because I'm sure they are, but there are definitely other hotels that make a better claim for the "top hotel" in Greenville.

Greenville, you're right - Drury Inn and Suites is ranked top by Trip Advisor only - as for the "nicest" hotel in the Greenville area, (of course) there are multiple opinions - just wanted to give louise50 a resource - perhaps this should be a springboard for a new thread, "Best Hotels in Greenville"
