OK, I'm totally jealous! Wife and I were in G'ville a couple of years ago - visited Pendleton Plantation - I fell in love with the Avalon! Wow, what a house! 'Was impressed with many of the details covered in construction with Ryan - saw no short-cuts (we built a house 3 years ago w/Lennar - FL). Glad to hear a good report about this builder....they have been one we have considered should we move to upstate.

Don't be jealous, you can come over and visit anytime. It is a very nice home though. The wife knew it was the right one instantaneously even after looking at many others from many builders before seeing it. We are soooo looking forward to moving in. Only 3 more weeks before we arrive in the area for good! I'd be happy to post more pictures of the house as it progresses, if anyone would like that.

B&G,
We just signed a contract to build in the same community. We've were impressed with Ryan's neighborhood's which is why we chose them. They don't go in and mow down all the trees and the neighborhood just had a nice "feel". We're building a Colville. Wish we could afford the Avalon, that master bath is AMAZING! Lucky you!

I work for a roofing company that does some of Ryan's roofing and they are really on top of things as far as Quality Control goes. I don't think you could go very wrong with Ryan for homes in that price range.

There are a lot of good custom homebuilders here as well...probably too many to list. The housing market is booming here and just gets bigger every year.

B&G - yes, would love to see more pics! I really enjoyed building our house here (not sure the construction super was real excited about me) - but I have a little background in construction, can read blueprints, and actually caught a few mistakes before the inspectors. We're leaving on vacation for SC tomorrow...might come through the G'ville area....will check out your community!

Very nice. One of my friends/coworkers lives in Whitehall, too. It's a very nice neighborhood.

Base price is about $250,000 in the subdivision I am building in, but the price increases dramatically in some other locations within the Greenville area.

Are there any builders to avoid? We are looking primarliy in the Greer/Taylors/Greenville area. We'd liek to stay above I-85.
Please be specific if you can.
We lok to buy a home in the next 6-8 weeks.
Thanks in advance!

Schumacher Homes is very well established and has a great reputation here in Ohio. They also have an office in Greenville and a few other towns down there. I do not think they build spec homes in developments, but only on your existing lot.
We are planning to move there and use their services.
