Sky, I'm beginning to wonder if you and Rested Traveler work for the Chamber of Commerce! Your posts are always so positive. Do you ALWAYS see the glass half full, or is it really that great up there? How long have you lived in the area?

G-man, I do not post photos for personal recognition. If people recognize the beauty in Greenville, that is enough satisfaction for me.
SarasotaMcCoy, I was born in Greenville long ago (not in ancient times), and have witnessed the drastic changes first-hand. I have lived here most of my life, though would not have remained past the mid-90s had it not been for the growing charm and beauty of this place. I recall downtown as being a virtual graveyard in the city and Laurens Road as a 2-lane country road before its rise as "The Motor Mile" and the retail hub of the region. Haywood Road emerged as the epicenter of regional retail life after the addition of the mall, and Woodruff Road was way out in the country, as was Pelham Road, near I-85. Many, many other parts of life in Greenville have changed in that amount of time. This city overall is nothing like it was in those days - and that is a very good thing.
RT is a relative newcomer, having joined our ranks during the latest surge in downtown redevelopment. I have always admired and been inspired by his passion for this city.

I wanted to revive this tread for the enjoyment of others who missed it. I am also puzzled why more people dont live north of Greenville. Any opinions on when people will start moving north rather than east?

I would like to have at least 2 acres of land and within at least 30 to 40 minutes from the city. I live in a restored historical home right now and my wife would like something quaint also. She is not interested in the plat neighborhoods going up in the greenville area. However, she does like the shops etc. Any ides please repond. Thanks Agian,

I have seen that some of the dogwoods and maples are getting a little splotchy with red. That is pretty typical for this time of year, for some of those trees to do some early turning. But we will not see any real color until at least mid-October, and the leaf season has gotten later over the past few years.
Great pics p2y!
