Visiting Greenville next weekend...
We are visiting Greenville next weekend to scout out the area for a possible move this Fall. My girlfriend and I would be moving there because of a job opportunity, but have heard some really nice things about the area as well. I like being in/near a big city, so, I have some reservations about the whole thing.
We are only going to be there for for three days and are staying downtown. I understand that there is a farmers' market on Saturday morning, and some galleries, cafes, the falls and parks to see downtown. Is there something else that is a "must-see" downtown? The North Main Street and Augusta Road areas are on our drive-through list as we have seen some interesting homes in those areas.
We also want to go for a drive on Sunday to see the more natural areas around Greenville. Paris Mt. State Park is on the list. Is another park worth the drive on such a limited time frame? If you were trying to "sell" Greenville in just three days, what would you have people go see and/or do?

Thanks, drinkwat. You're right, that thread has just the ideas I was looking for. Anyone know of an event next weekend we should check out? A good place downtown to eat well, and/or listen to some live music on Saturday night?

There are so many great things to do in such a short amount of time. I very highly recommend attending a live performance of 'Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story' at Centre Stage South Carolina. That would be unforgettable. On Saturday, you can attend the tribute CD release party at The Bohemian Cafe, Restaurant, & Bar.
Another high recommendation would be to visit The Brown Street Club. (Jazz)
These are only a couple selections from a list of options. Check out this site for more.
