Greenville picked for international electric vehicle conference | greenvilleonline.com | The Greenville News

"The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers chose Greenville over Austin, San Francisco, Washington and Detroit, said Lee Stogner, a local engineer and marketing consultant who is a member of the IEEE international board and its electric vehicle committee."

"In addition, the International Center for Automotive Research is set to host two other international conferences related to automotive technology this year."

It also appears Proterra will showcase its wares by providing buses to shuttle attendees between venues and downtown

Nice!

Not sure if this is news, but I saw a Proterra bus tooling through Mauldin the other day. Too fast to grab the camera though.

Now if only state lawmakers would seek to enhance this image for the whole state by lowering vehicle property taxes to encourage the ownership of newer, cleaner cars.

Agreed.
I don't think very highly of our state lawmakers, which is why I tend to think of Greenville as an island.

Well, regardless of regional sentiments, SC's property taxes on cars, etc are TOO high!

The City of Greenville unveiled two new electric charging stations today. The area now has a total of sixteen - more than any other area in the state, according to the SC Energy Office.
