I've been with State Farm for many years and am happy with the rates and coverage. I have been somewhat dissapointed in the local agent that I have chosen. Anyone have state farm with an agent that has proven to promptly return calls & provide good service?

We have been with Rudy Ables for 4 years now. Someone from his office has always returned any calls in a timely manner.

I was with Jim Boling on Stone Avenue (near North Main Street) for many years until shortly after his office relocated and merged into his son's office on East North Street several years ago. Jim and his staff were always very friendly and reputable, but I was less satisfied with the appearance and service of the staff at his son Jimmy's office. Perhaps it was merely a result of the merger, but it looked and felt like they were a bit overwhelmed by the increased business traffic at the time. I know a few people who have remained loyal customers and have not been disappointed, so he may be worth a try now.

Rudy Ables- he and his staff are amazing. We've been with him for years. We even stayed with them when we moved to Spartanburg (we recently moved back to Greer). I would not recommend Jimmy Boling. We have several family members who didn't have good experiences with them and ended up switching agents.

Cliff Gaubert in Spartanburg. Excellent staff, quick responses. You will NOT be disappointed.

I can't say the same for the agent my father-in-law had in the Duncan area a few years ago.

I've kind of answered my own question. Jim Mc gill in Simpsonville is excellent. Any "difficulties" i was experiencing were completely attributable to the agent I had in WI. He did not do his job in a correct and timely manner and would not admit to it. Since this was an interstate issue Jim had to jump through a few corporate hoops to get the information, but, at the end of the day he got everything straightened out and even cleared up some of the "sins" that the agent in WI had committed.

BTW insurance is considerably less expensive for the same coverage in SC vs WI.

I would second the recommendation for Marty Joiner. He's a good guy and the staff are great.
