Default Question about the Clock Restaurant

Why are there two Clock Restaurants right next to each other on Hwy 123 in West Greenville. The logos on the signs are different and names are slightly different. I think one is the Clock drive in, and the other one I can't remember, but something like the Clock Family Restaurant.

I heard this about 15 years ago. Father owned the original one that is on the corner. He died and left one sibling the restaurant and one money. The one with money wanted the restaurant and they got into some sort of fight. He ended up building one right behind the other just for spite.

My memory is fuzzy but that is what I recall. Could be wrong.

I have heard a similar story. I don't remember details, but I definitely recall that there was supposedly a family disagreement and the other brother opened the second Clock next to the original Clock out of spite. LOL!

Thank you for asking about this! We drove past there last week and I had the same question. I didn't think about it again, though, until I saw this lol It is good to know the story!

that story isnt actually true. All that happened was that the owners of the restaurant were leasing the original building. when the lease was up they wanted to buy the property but the owner didnt want to sell it. so they bought the property next to it and opened up there. Then someone else came into to the previous location and reopened that location as well.

Lol. good to know though I don't remember the first place ever being vacant and I'm pretty sure it was open the whole time the other one was open. Still an interesting fact. Had to be at least 20 years ago.
