As a lover of Dim Sum, I can only answer "NO!" There is no true Dim Sum available in the Greenville/Spartanburg area. I usually make my own to scratch my itch there - at least all the ingredients are locally available in Asian markets. Some of the better Asian (Chinese/Thai) restaurants have some Dim Sum -type appetizers, but that's about all you'll find around here.
Thanks for the input. I'll have to try Happy China, we've never been there. Do you have any recommendations for Dim Sum in Charlotte, FlopShotter?
Also check out Asian Supermarket on Haywood (the largest Asian grocer in the area). They have a large selection of frozen Dim Sum. We do this often in our bamboo steamer, though you don't get the same service experience.
Asian Supermarket is worth the visit just for Pocky!

I went there a couple of weeks ago to check it out. It's a great store! I make a lot of asian dishes at home so I was relieved to find a place that has all of the ingredients I use. I haven't tried the frozen dim sum, though, I'll have to get some the next time I go.
Sorry about going on a tangent here, but I know there are tons of good sushi places in & around Greenville. Many groceries even sell sushi. I think if someone were to open a kaiten - style sushi place in the West End or downtown, or maybe on Augusta St. it would do really well. Conveyor belt sushi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
We've eaten at some on the West Coast, and even I (a definite NON-sushi person) found yummy things to eat! Wonder why that hasn't been tried here yet?

Coincidentally enough, the best of the two main ones in Charlotte is called...wait for it...Dim Sum Chinese Restaurant!
The food is better than the name, though!
