Talking Hippie,Funky Side of town

We are currently in WV,we are thinking of moving to GV and am looking for areas in town that seem to attract different types of people other than the obvious art district,I would love to hear from any festival or Donna people (the Herd).

The hippie, funky side of Greenville is called Asheville.

Seriously, there is no hippie, funky part of Greenville.

You'll find some of the Herd here. In fact Donna has played Greenville multiple times. Check out the deep West End (Pendleton Street area) and parts of Wade Hampton around Chick Springs.

Sorry, but my limited knowledge have me agreeing with Art 123. Living in Asheville now, but have spent the last month making multiple trips, 2-3 times a week to Greenville, house-hunting, appointments, etc.....Asheville is all about the hippies....Greenville seems, well not so much.

West ends your best bet, but I agree, not so big a hippie set here.

While the Upstate in general and Greenville in particular tend to have a little "something" for everyone, I would agree with most here - there isn't a hippie "scene" here. On the plus side (for you), there are PLENTY of kind people of all stripes around here!

FWIW, marijuana laws are actively enforced and prosecuted here even for small amounts. To me it's a waste of limited police resources, but that's a whole other topic. What may be a small fine in other states can cost you much more here, including jail time.
