LOL .
I didn't even take the time to re-read this because people all have their opinions
but you all sound like a bunch of ranting children.... mad because I'm not letting you blindfold the world
It must really be a bummer that City-data made a forum that can expose the inequality of such cities
The admins can match IPs........ SoJones... is.....SoJones... hate to ruin your dreams of some diabolical internet character with multiple screen names.... but hey, if you write a book. How about giving me some royalties? You def have teh imagination to make it read-worthy

Who is it though? Hopefully you don't think it's me because it's not. I'm not that stupid. I learned my lesson from UP about making new screen names.

IF his IP address originated from Greenville then that would be a different story.
So far his entire purpose on this forum has been to disrespect the City and anyone posting accurate positive information about the city. How is that a valid contribution to this forum? Evidence leads to the obvious possibility that his intentions are not honorable.

I'm still fairly new to City-data and i didn't frequent outside of the Columbia forum at first...so i can't say that i followed Sojones history of post. Everyone is entitle to an opinion and y'all shouldn't try to ban someone for that. Now if it's proven to be untrue then i can understand the anger. But wouldn't that be a good thing for someone to paint an alternate picture of Greenville if it's true. I would like to know the whole scope of the city instead of the rosey stuff that the media paints. I would have like that to happen for me before i moved to Savannah. I was downtown and parked on a side street and almost got robbed by these 2 guys. I was thankful that my Treo and leather case was so big looking.....because they thought i was pulling out a gun, so they stopped long enough for me to get to my car and drive off. I
had to learn the hard way but i wish people would have told me the bad part of the city.

I agree, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If you have some extra time though, read through some of his posts. He tries to pass off a lot of his opinions as facts and sometimes just lies.

Getting back to crime
I tried to find a fair comparison by choosing a city near me that is the same size as Greenville. Fort Myers is about 25 miles from Bonita Springs. I've worked in Fort Myers for years without incident, but there are some sections I would definitely avoid at night. So what this means to me is that if you live in certain areas, it's possible to have a higher rate of crime in the immediate vacinity, but most suburbs will be relatively safe.
Sorry - I just edited this post because the chart didn't copy well and was illegible. What it showed is that there was just as much (or more in some categories) crime in Fort Myers.
Okay - getting back to the subject at hand, I was just told by someone that Greer has a high crime rate, yet every stat I'm seeing shows it as a low crime area. Comments are welcome. Can't find Taylors on any FBI chart.
