We're hoping to make an afternoon of apple picking next week and would love some recommendations.

Thanks!

Not sure if they are the best, but they sure as heck must have been the busiest last Saturday!!! Took 2 friends up there to see Skyop Orchards in Flat Rock (Hendersonville). You would have thought they were giving the farm away! There were so many people, looked like about 500 cars and triple the poeple.

The line just to buy apple cide donuts were at least 100 deep with people, the line for people to pay for their apples was about the same, and there orchards were filled with families and their baskets.

Will go back again but hopefully there won't be as many people.

Sky Top Orchard | Flat Rock, NC | Pick-Your-Own Apples, Hayrides, Fresh Donuts, Family Fun, Apple Cider

There's even a coupon on their website you can print for apples.

Lots of things to do there, picnic tables, petting zoo, "hay" rides.

Here's what they're currently picking

My family has always loved Justus Orchards in Hendersonville. Their current location is quite beautiful as well.

Skytop may have the nicest views, but it can be a mob on weekends.

We like the service better at Justus

Default Justus

The people who work there are great! We went on a Sunday and it was not crowded.

Sky Top is our favorite- we just went today! If you go on the weekends, I would suggest going later in the afternoon- I've heard it's less crowded then rather than being there late morning/lunchtime. We got there around noon today, had a picnic lunch, picked apples, had cider and fresh apple cider donuts. By the time we bought our cider and donuts, there were no lines because all of this school kids had left. We've been to several in this area, and Sky Top is our favorite- we go once or twice every year.

I may hit it up on Friday and hope it's not as busy.

Here's two pictures I took while we were up there. One of the line to get donuts and just a random pic as people were going to pick.
