We are finally moving to Greenville from Birmingham, AL at the end of Oct. (Yippee!!), and need opinions on a good mover. We are driving the truck, but need somebody to unlaod. We will be in Greer, around Eastside High, so we would prefer somebody closeby due to travel time for mover (they actually charge driving time to and from site).

Thanks

We had the same situation in the spring. Several people recommended a company that has been here for quite a few years. I will say they showed up on time and did a pretty good job of unloading. I guess it is the son of the owner who runs it now. So we had 3 young men, including the owner's son. The problem was the owner's son was on the phone more than half the time, literally. He kept apologizing, saying 'business calls'. And the other 2 stopped to smoke several times. When they were through, we were charged the entire time for all of them, plus substantial travel time. That wasn't fair to charge us his phone time to drum up more business. Then he had no invoice to leave me, after I paid in cash, so I had to call over and over to get one. So I personally would not use them again, but that's my opinion only. So be sure you have all the terms clear before you hire someone. PM me if you want more info

I've used "Jimmy Moore" in the Greenville area repeatedly over the last 15 years- very good work, always dependable, and FAST. We once tried "3 Men and a Drunk... er... Truck" but found they took their lunch break and came back reeking of booze, and one guy kept weaving stories abuot how the last client "in a huge house" didn't "only tipped them 20%" Sorry, I thought tips were EARNED. I was most certainly that guy's next complaint - I tipped the 1 guy who actually worked, while the complainer and drunk - who did less loading than I did - got zilch.
No, I don't get kickbacks or know any of these folks personally, but go with Jimmy Moore Movers. Ask around, you'll probably get good responses on them.

Another thought is to go to uhaul.com and on their home page, in the middle of the page, click on the link "Need loading help" After you put in your zip code, several companies are listed, with comments and ratings. Might be helpful

Reliable Movers out of Easley, SC did an awesome job unloading our truck. Not only were they nice guys but they know what they were doing and got to it. Very fast and efficient. They didn't dawdle around or ask dumb questions. You could tell that they were professional movers and not just hired labor. You can call them at (864) 283-1594 or hire them through U-Haul.

I have also used Jimmy Moore to move 3 times in the past 20 years, each time locally and have been pleased each time. I am always impressed with how quickly they can get things loaded and unloaded. I have never used them to pack as I have always done that myself. Good Luck!
