Keep in mind many supplier and other jobs will be created to support these public announcements. At the contract manufacturer where I work these announcements will probably mean at least 5 new positions over the next 12 months or so, and that's a conservative number. Over the next several years expect to hear about new companies popping up around here, small businesses providing vital services for the bigger firms. Greenville will thus have an even more diverse economy on a solid footing.

We're so busy at work the company is turning away business.

Dang it! You beat me to it!

P.S. - Any details on the building permits? Look like renovations or new construction?

Update on TD Bank: GSA Business | Greenville, SC | Spartanburg, SC | Anderson, SC

TD Bank is nearing completion of $17 million in renovations at its new regional operations hub off Interstate 85 in Greenville.

The bank is hiring around 30 people each month as it ramps up operations and plans to open its new contact center there in March, said Simon Hong, TD senior vice president and head of the Greenville Contact Center.

The campus includes three office buildings totaling about 300,000 square feet. More than 600 people work there already but as many as 1,500 could be hired. The bank will continue hiring until 2014, Hong said.
