WOW... That's a loaded question! It really depends on your favorite type of food. If you liked Smoke on the Water, you might also like Sticky Fingers too (but it's more casual and blues-oriented, but pretty good BBQ). Otherwise, the sky's the limit.

I think you'll enjoy several of the options in downtown then. Here is a short list for starters:

I recommend trying a few on Main Street. What is your typical dining budget per meal? Try Larkin's on the River, Sassafras, Soby's, Rick Erwin's, High Cotton, The Lazy Goat, Trattoria Giorgio, Ristorante Bergamo, American Grocery, Nantucket, Lemongrass, Devereaux's, Sushi Koji, Purple International Bistro, Spoonbread, The Cazbah, Takosushi, Tsunami and/or anything else you see that looks good.

Thanks everyone for all these wonderful suggestions! Sounds like we are going to stay busy checking out places for the next few months

We've been packing this weekend and are SO excited to be returning to the south and a beautiful area!

Some really good non-downtown restaurants include:

Travinia on Woodruff Rd.
Stella's Southern Bistro in Simpsonville
P. Simpson's in Simpsonville
Lieu's (Asian) on Woodruff Rd.
The Plaid Pelican near The Fresh Market off Pleasantburg Dr & Laurens Rd.

...and too many BBQ and Pizza "joints" all over the area to name!

Happy hunting!

Yes, but be sure to check out those threads devoted specifically to Pizza. There is a wide variety and it will help you avoid those that don't fit your liking based on other's reviews.

As for Azalea Hill Suites, the web site may not completely reflect their current pricing. We spoke to someone in early May and got the pricing that was quoted on the site, but since we weren't moving until early June, didn't know that there was new management and that the prices had changed quite a bit, as did the fees. Not complaining, but a bit of a suprise when we arrived! It is a nice complex and has furnished apartments. They are pet friendly, which we needed, but like I said - call for the new rates if you need to be budget minded!

Plaid Pelican at that location (Forest Park Shopping Center) closed around the end of 2011 after less than a year in operation.
